Heroes’ Path Board of Advisors

Dr. Mitch Yockelson

Dr. Mitchell Yockelson is a military historian and a leading authority on America's role in the First World War. He is an investigative archivist at the National Archives and the author of Forty-Seven Days. He works from the documents themselves, down to the after-action reports and letters home, and then tells the story through the people who were there.

Mitch joined John Fenzel and Dr. Ron Clark for the inaugural Heroes' Path webinar, Resilience Under Fire, in July 2025. He returned in September 2026 to present The Meuse-Argonne Offensive: America's Deadliest Battle and the End of WWI, walking the 47 days from the opening barrage to the armistice.
